My Springtime Style

The transition from winter to spring is never an easy one especially when it comes to one’s wardrobe. It’s that awkward balance of wanting to wear lighter and thinner clothing. And let’s be honest after that mini mid-April heatwave then the temperatures briefly warming up again over the bank holiday weekend, we could all be forgiving for thinking that was it summer had finally arrived. However, the temperatures are back to where they should be at this time of year and it is still a little too chilly at times to get carried away.

In this period, I like to combine seasons.  Like wearing a jumper/sweater or jumper dress/sweater dress with no jacket, because this is one of the only times of year (other than summer into autumn transition period) where you could do this and show off the detail and not have it covered up by a coat.

The next look is the light knitted top or dress with a jacket. It’s easy laying in bright spring welcoming colours or stripes teamed with jeans or denim jacket and peep toe or a skirt and ankle boots.

There are also lots of pretty spring/summer dresses in the stores now, which brings me to my last favourite spring look. A floral or stripped spring dress teamed with a biker jacket and ankle boots. This is great because you can buy that dress you like now and wear it now one way. Then later in the season when it gets warmer you can wear it another way with sandals and denim jacket – if needed.
