This is the basic hummus recipe
Ingredients
400g can of organic chickpeas
3 tbsp tahini
Juice of 1 large organic lemon
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves of garlic minced (or 2 tsp of lazy garlic)
Good pinch of rock salt
½ tsp of ground cumin
2 tbsp of water
Now for my spicy twist add these ingredients
½ tsp chilli powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp cumin
½ tsp ground coriander
½ tsp dried chilli flakes
½ tsp dried coriander leaves
A handful of fresh parsley
Pinch of cracked black pepper
1 tbsp water
Method
1 Place all the ingredients, except the water, in a food processor or mini chopper, pulse until minced.
2 Then add the water and pulse until a rough paste. (I like to have a bit of texture to my hummus but you can make it as smooth as you want.)
3 The hummus is ready.
