Words First Live

Words First Live was an event hosted by BBC Radio 1Xtra at The Roundhouse, in Camden London, showcasing up incoming and more established spoken word artist and poets from around the country.

It was a great night and I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.

The evening included moving performances from likes of the up and coming Solomon O.B, talking about his upbringing in foster care and the love he received from his foster parents, to the more thought provoking by leading spoken word artists such as Kate Tempest, the brilliant George the Poet and Kojey Radical – with his poetry accompanied by a live rock band.

The Roundhouse is very accessible. There are wheelchair bays upstairs, in the circle overlooking the performance area, with a lift accessing all levels and accessible facilities on all floors. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
